Hi.

Welcome to my web site. Here I share my experiences and lessons learned through the process of photographic discovery. You are welcome to comment.

Street gear talk

I have been curious about what kind of setup should I feel most comfortable with when going out to the streets. Such aspect of photography I believe is so personal, and sometimes mundane, yet I believe that unless such search is not done, it becomes a distraction to my process of photography.

So today I rehearsed a discreet and simple setup, a Fuji x-e2s, the 18mmf2, and the 35mmf2, a little/discreet belt pouch to carry the lens :-), and a set of polarizers for both lenses in case opportunity arises.

It was midday, sunny and too cloudy. I couldn't keep up with the light. As soon as I come to an interesting composition, a cloud would come and block the sunlight. It messed me up.

The camera and its rangefinder style is great: small, easy to maneuver with my wrist (thanks to a thumb rest), and since it is so small, I'd go unnoticed. But more than one time I wish I had a flip screen, like the XT series cameras

I walked through Casco Viejo and Santa Ana. I tried to find inspiration in shadows, people, and simple things, but since it has been more than a few weeks, I'd be honest, I felt out of my zone.

As a result, the setup worked for the most part, until I had to change lenses. I am not sure if it is a good idea to carry an additional lens, or if I should work with a small zoom lens, or if I should stick with one lens, or maybe I should keep an extra lens hoping no to use it, unless the situation calls for it. i am not really sure what would be more helpful to my photography, so I should keep exploring.

Tricky light and exposures
