Auto Mode

I know I have learned a thing or two in photography the moment I felt weird trying Auto mode with my Fuji X100T. I have said before this is a versatile camera and it was time to prove it again. Indeed.

Yesterday we were invited to celebrate the birthday for one of my nephews, and thought the X100T could do a fine job for casual family and friends photography. The camera is so little, yet so powerful, people were astound to see the quality of the images compared the ones from iphones and the like.

Using Auto Mode allows the camera to decide everything, aperture, shutter, iso, flash or not to flash. No need to worry about anything, just compose, focus and shoot, and for some weird reason, every time I intended to take a picture, the camera would preset to exactly the way I had thought it would do. A mind reader of a camera? Is it possible? In addition, the movie mode is actually pretty good for occassions like these, which I used a couple of times. It beats the iphone ten times over.

Truth is it has been a long while since I used Auto Mode, but yesterday I learned to trust it in moments for which I just want to have fun, without having to worry about settings, the light, or sharing the camera for others to use. Still, the devil in me had to show RAW + JPEG just because. :-)

At the end, we celebrated life and being together, and I had the opportunity to share beautiful memories with great quality pictures everybody love. Thanks Fuji. And happy birthday Edgardin!
