Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Here I share my experiences and lessons learned through the process of photographic discovery. You are welcome to comment.

La boda de ella

I am not a wedding photographer, by any stretch of the imagination, but when a dear friend invites you to her wedding, not only cannot you say no, but in my case I couldn't just leave a camera at home. I thought this could be a good opportunity to test my new Fuji X-T20 (in fact, I am selling the lovely X-E2S). Truth is, I found out when comparing both the X-T1 with the zoom lens and the X-E2S with a couple of primes, more often than not I was grateful for the shots in which I had a flippy screen (hence the X-T1). I love the ergos of the rangefinder style of the X-E2S, but I have to say the now new member of the family X-T20 performs great in the streets.

The X-T20 is a small 24mp camera, discreet, retro looking and coupled with the XF 27mm lens is a quite a light combo, which I thought would be very convenient to take candid pictures for my friend's wedding. Honeslty, both Michelle and Rene looked the part for newlyweds, they were immensely happy, and both their families were in joy. I hope some of the pictures could transmit that feeling.

A wedding setup is a challenge for a camera of my specs: low light is usually a job left to full frame cameras; nevertheless, I wanted to push the newer sensor of my X-T20 and see results at ISO 12800, and have to say, they are gorgeous. Of course, I could have used a speedlight, but I was a guest at the party, not the photographer :-), although I have to admit that the assisting photographers had better angle of view and position than me, just a random guest at the event. However, even though I had non-perfect prime pancake lens, with 24mp pictures, this camera offered me high quality cropability.

i enjoyed this camera/lens combo. I enjoyed much more la boda de ella. God blessings to both of you.
