I am not only loving the light, but I am also loving the small form factor of the Fuji X-E2S and the lens combo 18/35mm with polarizers. It is a light setup, and as opposed to a few weeks ago, I have learned how and when to use both lenses to enrich my street photography experience.
But coming back to the "loving the light” theme, I made a plan this week to pursue photography both in early morning, and in late afternoon, and look for those pockets of warm light across the streets of Casco Viejo. Man, what a difference! The colors rendered by these lenses and the Fuji sensor are unfair. The Fuji film filters are playing with my mind giving me rich contrasts and tonalities. And even though shadows are softer, I have to say they play a concert of fujicolors that even though i have experienced before, but not fully appreciated.
To be honest, it is far more interesting to do street close to the sunset, the environment is more exciting, with more people around, and fun activities happening any which place. It just so happens it is more difficult for me given my schedule and family responsibilities, but hopefully, I could work out a compromise to allow such outings more often.
I'd like to share more than a few photos; however, most of them were taken with the 18mm lens, perhaps not a quality landscape lens, but man… great for street photography. Let me know your comments below.
