The X-Pro2, a camera for serious photography

Indeed, I love my Fujifilm X-Pro2.

I say this is a camera for serious photography, meaning that when you hold it in your hands, you quickly realize the responsibility of taking great pictures. More often than not, I feel I have let this camera down; however, I am determined to earn its respect.

So today, I decided to go to Santa Ana and try shooting wide open with the X-Pro2 and the XF 35mm f2 to see if I can catch some cool blurry backgrounds. Also, I configured the camera to shoot RAW+Acros jpeg so as to see everything in black and white before shooting, hoping to focus more on the light and the framing of the image. It worked up to an extent, but for some reason I started using the optical viewfinder instead of the EVF.

However, I think working the camera that way made an influence on me, since I started editing the pictures using film presets to give it that kinda look. For colors I chose the Kodak Portra 800, and for B/W I chose the Kodad Tri-X 400 using a tool called Silver Efex Pro. Not only that, but I started wondering if it was time to start shooting in black and white again. We'll see where time leads me…
